Third Time's the Charm

After two earlier unsuccessful attempts this year Jacob has recently added a new skill to his repertoire ..the potty. This past week he only had a few accidents, much to my delight. I am so proud of my big boy! And very relieved that I won't have to have two little guys in diapers.

Jacob insisted that he wanted to be a ghost for Halloween. I made him a costume and he loved it but could only stand to wear it for 5 minutes at a time, which is why he is not dressed up in this picture. When we went trick or treating later that night he only lasted for 3 houses before he was done with the costume and done with going from house to house.

Hey Lady!

Jacob has taken to calling me "Lady" in the last couple of days, rather than the usual "MawMaw". This morning he told me "nice try Lady" when we were playing catch. Where does he come up with this stuff?

Top 10 Most Exciting Things That Have Happened to Us This Year

Since our blog was out of commission for so long I thought I'd give a brief overview, especially seeing as the reason we did not post was because we had such a busy and exciting year. These are in chronological order, not in order of importance. Our year in a nutshell:

10. Doug graduated with his Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering!!!! (this was probably the most exciting for me)
9. We went on a family vacation/roadtrip which took us through Colorado, Utah, Idaho, and Wyoming, where we visited with family we had not seen for a long time. This was a huge highlight in our year.
8. We started our own photobooth rental company, which is still a work in progress but we are very excited about it.
7. We found out we are expecting our second baby!! (ok maybe this was the most exciting)
6. Mimi turned 29.
5. Doug turned 29.
4. We celebrated our 6th wedding anniversary.
3. Jacob turned 3.
2. Mimi graduated with her Masters in Psychology.
1. Doug got called as a counselor in the bishopric of our congregation.

Of course all of this is already public knowledge, I just thought I'd make it official. I look forward to posting more regularly now that I have so much more free time on my hands :)

Goodbye Old Friend

Today we bid farewell to Doug's trusty "white ride", his faithful companion of 4 years. We're gonna miss you...kind of.

Our Birthday Boy

    Jacob turned three this past weekend, marking one of the happiest, most wonderful moments of our lives. Friday he celebrated with his buddies and family with a party at the park. Saturday was his special birthday trip including a hike on the mountain (at his request), bird-watching, a ride on an old-fashioned train, and a visit to cousin Walter's house to attend Walter's birthday party. It was almost too much fun for the little guy to handle! Unfortunately, as we have no working camera of our own at the moment we didn't get any pictures but on the bright side we didn't have to stop every 15 mins to worry about posing to get a good shot  :) Doug and I are so very grateful for our loving, friendly, good, smart little Jacob boy.
