Last week Jacob slept through the night for the first time! Although there hasn't been a repeat performance it is nice to know the thing is possible. Also, Jacob rolled over for the first time last week. What a talented boy!!
All you mothers out there I'm looking for some good advice. I've been trying to get Jacob on a regular sleeping schedule for overnights and naps but all my efforts have been in vain. Any suggestions?
Yesterday at our pediatrician's appointment we learned that Jacob now weighs a whooping 14 lbs. 9 oz which puts him in the 95th percentile for weight. Here's our little heavyweight.
This week I got a Moby wrap for carrying the baby. I love it! Jacob is such a snuggly baby so he never wants me to put him down. Now I can actually get things accomplished while I'm holding him. He is also a fan, everytime I put him in it he's asleep in 5 minutes.
Last week Jacob and I went to Merrymead Farms with Mom, John, Bekah and Abby. The little fellow got to go on his first hayride and grandma bought him his very own pumpkin.
Posing with his pumpkin.
You can see how much he's enjoying himself.
Abby and Bekah on the hayride.
It was windy and cold so he snuggled up to me through the whole ride. I love having a kid to do all this fun stuff with (even if he won't remember a thing).
Jacob loves being outside so we went on a trip to the park. His favorite part was lying down on the blanket and looking up at the sky. What a cutie patooti!
Yesterday Jacob went in for his one month checkup. He is 11 lbs 4 oz which puts him in the 90th percentile. We've been force feeding him for weeks to achieve this. Here are some of the latest pics.

One of my favorite things about being a mom is kissing those chubby cheeks.
Baby Boy, Jacob Emmanuel Johnson, 8 lbs 3 oz. Labor took 3.5 hours, Mimi is doing great. Natural birth (no epidural), Mimi was awesome. This is almost the only time he cried in the first 24 hours.
After a long and illustrious career of cutting Doug's hair I finally made a fatal error today. I forgot to put the plastic extension on that makes sure you don't cut too close to the scalp. Don't worry it looks much better now but it was too hilarious to not take a picture of. I believe I did something similar to Micah once and he never let me cut his hair again. Fortunately Doug likes his hair short and would buzz cut it every time if I let him.
Last weekend after cleaning out the house and preparing for the big move Mom and Dad had an silent art auction for all the patings dad didn't want to move. I thought you guys might enjoy seeing the house relatively empty.

Doug and Aunt Bev. Uncle Jon and Aunt Bev were nice enough to come down all the way from Manhattan to help Mom and Dad with the move.
Yesterday I quit my job, or I should say gave my two weeks notice. I've been looking forward to this for years. No more working on Saturdays, no more waking up at 3 am to get to work on time (although this will resume when the baby comes I'm sure). Doug is now getting benefits for us through his work which will cover my pregnancy and make this break possible for me. Yay! I am so appreciative of his hard work and support. I am really looking forward to being able to enjoy the rest of my summer and all the big changes that are coming. Now I just have to make it through the next 14 days...
