OOPS!

After a long and illustrious career of cutting Doug's hair I finally made a fatal error today. I forgot to put the plastic extension on that makes sure you don't cut too close to the scalp. Don't worry it looks much better now but it was too hilarious to not take a picture of. I believe I did something similar to Micah once and he never let me cut his hair again. Fortunately Doug likes his hair short and would buzz cut it every time if I let him.

The Auction

Last weekend after cleaning out the house and preparing for the big move Mom and Dad had an silent art auction for all the patings dad didn't want to move. I thought you guys might enjoy seeing the house relatively empty.

Big News

Yesterday I quit my job, or I should say gave my two weeks notice. I've been looking forward to this for years. No more working on Saturdays, no more waking up at 3 am to get to work on time (although this will resume when the baby comes I'm sure). Doug is now getting benefits for us through his work which will cover my pregnancy and make this break possible for me. Yay! I am so appreciative of his hard work and support. I am really looking forward to being able to enjoy the rest of my summer and all the big changes that are coming. Now I just have to make it through the next 14 days...

Housing Update

Doug and I signed the lease for our new apartment yesterday. We will be moving July 15th, YAY! The apartment is in Prospect Park, 5 minutes from Doug's work and less than ten minutes from the airport for all you who are visiting this summer.

Movin' Out

As some of you know Doug and I have been deliberating about whether or not to stay at our current apartment due to our changing financial/work status with the little guy on the way. We finally decided to see if we could negotiate a lower rent with our apartment and if not to find a new place. So Doug talked to our rental office today and the upshot of things is he gave notice on our apartment this morning. We now have 60 days to find a new place of abode. I'm actually kind of excited. We have at least one place that has offered us an apartment beginning August 1st so that's our backup. I will miss our old place because we have so many good memories here but we have so many wonderful things going on in our life I'm sure we will make more great memories. Wish us luck in our apartment hunting!
